Description: This one day course focused on topics of financial management in water and wastewater utilities. These topics included rates, customer water use, utility financial performance benchmarks, and utility financial practices and policies. The course is conducted by the Environmental Finance Center at the UNC School of Government, and is co-organized by the Local Government Training Program in the Department of Political Science and Public Affairs at Western Carolina University.

Intended Audience: Utility managers, finance directors, city and county managers, council, commission and board members, and technical assistance providers.

Sponsors: The Local Government Training Program at Western Carolina University, Public Water Supply Section at the NC Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Professional Development Hours: 6.0 contact hours for water operators, wastewater operators and Professional Engineers.
