From conserving energy in their own facilities to developing community climate change action plans, local governments are becoming more and more engaged on the frontlines of "green." In this course, the Environmental Finance Center, co-sponsored by the Local Government Training Program at Western Carolina University, provided an introduction to what "green" means and how to fund it. Our trainings in the past have covered finance and policy challenges that arise when local governments consider implementing energy efficiency, fuel efficiency, waste reduction, alternative energy projects and other sustainability initiatives. This session continued that discussion and expanded to cover community-related initiatives, such as residential energy revolving loan funds. Sustainability Managers, Contract Coordinators, Energy Managers, Planners, Finance Directors and more will find the topics applicable.
