Stormwater Finance and Management
(June 24 - 25, 2008, UNC School of Government, Chapel Hill

The goal of the course was to provide local government managers, finance directors, planners, and public works officials with an in-depth introduction to planning and funding stormwater programs and utilities. This event was a part of EFC's Water Management Leadership Program.

Topics included:

  • Funding strategies to address post construction requirements and long term Best Management Practice (BMP) management.
  • Current trends in establishing and managing stormwater utilities and setting utility fees.
  • Case studies of successful stormwater funding programs and utilities throughout the state
  • Capital financing options and tools - public and private funding sources.
