Southeastern Regional Water Quality Assistance Network

Tricia King from the Land Trust for Tennessee and Christine Olsenius from the Southeast Watershed Forum held a meeting with the Marion County Joint Economic Development Board to make a presentation (pdf) on the value of shaping growth to areas that would not degrade the scenic beauty and unique habitat of the region. They hoped to offer a quality growth training session for representatives from several surrounding counties, including Sequatichie.

The counties were not ready for any training assistance, but the Southeast Watershed Forum developed an animated housing density build-out (see ANIMATED HOUSING DENSITY MAP above).

Tricia King has been working on securing conservation easements in the scenic Sequatchie Valley and has recently secured protected acreage.
