The City of Clayton's failing sewer infrastructure is threatening the water quality of the Chattooga River. With the assistance of SERWQAN members, the city was able to address sewer problems on several levels. The Environmental Finance Center explored funding options. The Southeast Watershed facilitated stakeholder involvement and planning, and North Carolina State University provided an engineering review of a Request for Proposals for fixing the sewer system.
